Estate agents must fully understand the laws which govern their businesses and how to apply them in practice. The consequences of non-compliance can have severe implications, damaging a business and its reputation.

With legislation changing all the time, it is even more important for agents to stay up to date in order to avoid any penalties. This course helps attendees to understand how they can remain compliant, explaining important areas such as the legal structures of a business, The Estate Agents Act 1979 and consumer law (including the Consumers, Estate Agents and Redress Act.)

Simon Stone, NAEA Trainer

Simon Stone

Simon is a practicing solicitor (admitted to the Roll in 1985) in Milton Keynes in the firm he founded and in which he is now a Consultant. He has been General Counsel of a Title Insurance company and a Legal Director and co-creator of one the UK’s largest conveyancing firms. He has taught law in India and been a partner in a large provincial practice.

Professionally, Simon has been President of the Milton Keynes Law Society and of the Berks, Bucks and Oxfordshire Law Society of which he is the current honorary secretary.
