Regulations on local lockdown published

The UK Government has published Regulations for Leicester which clarify that agents do not need to cease viewings or close branches in areas of local lockdown.

Agents must, however, adhere to the existing Regulations and Propertymark Best Practice guidance on house viewings, moves, and maintenance in order to avoid being subject to far more stringent restrictions.

Specified areas of Leicester have been designated as an area of local lockdown although there is speculation that other parts of the country are likely to be subject to similar regulations in the coming weeks and months.

These Regulations require the closure of pubs and restaurants along with a list of specified sectors which includes Auction Houses, in order to protect against the risks to public health arising from Coronavirus.

How long the regulations will last?

The closures and restrictions will be in place in Leicester until they are lifted by the Secretary of State for Health and will be reviewed every 14 days, with the first review taking place by 18 July 2020.
