The 4 Methods of Sale to Increase Instructions

Recent court judgements have stated that estate agents have a duty to recommend auction when it is clear this would be the best method of sale and agents have been prosecuted for ignoring these instructions. It is more important than ever to have a knowledge of the different methods of sale and to understand how this can both protect agents and result in more instructions and sales.

This course will explain the four different ways to sell a property: auction, informal tender, formal tender and private treaty.

Audience

Estate agents, senior negotiators and directors who wish to understand the full range of sales options open to their business.

Topics

  • How to use informal tender (or “sealed bids”) correctly
  • What is formal tender and how it works
  • When to use auction as a method of sale
