Introduction to Commercial Property Management

This course serves as an introduction or refresher course for those who need to develop an intermediate understanding of how to manage commercial property.

Attendees will learn the key differences around the management of commercial property versus residential property, including typical agreements, how to deal with clients’ money and renewing a lease.

They will also understand more about the important rules and regulations that govern the management of commercial property, including the security of tenure under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and laws around the licensing of property.

Audience

Agents with one or a few landlord clients with commercial property who require a greater understanding of the management techniques required.

  • Major lease covenants including: Rent reviews and break clauses, Dealing with requests for assignment, subletting and alterations/improvements, Dealing with repairs and dilapidations issues, and Restrictions on/changes of use

Kevin Aspin, ICBA Trainer

Kevin Aspin

Kevin is a practising Chartered Surveyor having qualified with first class accreditation in 1990. Kevin has over thirty years experience in commercial property and specialises in Valuation, Asset Management and Commercial Property Management. Kevin also assists many organisations with the development of their property strategies.

Kevin lectures at the University of Salford on both under and post graduate property degree courses as well as being a retained trainer for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Kevin is a popular and regular Speaker at Property Conferences.

In his limited spare time, Kevin manages a Junior football team and enjoys national heritage.
