2020 Tax Commission Proposes Abolition of SDLT
The 2020 Tax Commission - established by the TaxPayers' Alliance
and the Institute of Directors - has published its final
report entitled 'The Single Income Tax'. The report concludes
that the UK's current tax system is overly complex and burdensome,
and also that the overall level of taxation is too high. It
proposes simplification measures (including merging income tax and
NI into one single tax), and also of note proposed that Stamp Duty
Land Tax be abolished.
