Bank of England: Money and Credit Statistics for July 2015

The Bank of England has released its statistics on Money and Credit for July 2015. The data includes the number of home loan and remortgage approvals.

Earlier in the month, the Bank of England released its statistics on Money and Credit for July 2015. The data showed that the number of loan approvals for house purchases was 68,764 in July, compared to the average of 64,186 over the previous six months. This approval rate was the highest since January 2014. The number of approvals for remortgaging was 38,042, compared to the average of 34,549 over the previous six months.

The report also revealed that lending on dwellings had increased by £2.7 billion in July, compared to the average monthly increase of £2.2 billion over the previous six months. Gross lending secured on dwellings was £18.5 billion, which was a £0.1 billion increase from the previous month. Repayments made on dwellings were £15.9 billion, which was the same as June.
