Qualifications changes

Propertymark Qualifications have revised their Level 2 and Level 3 specifications for assessment from January 2018. In most cases you will see only a slight change to your qualification, but please see below for some essential information which you need to be aware.

Benefits to candidates
Propertymark Qualifications have listened to candidate feedback and have streamlined the number of units they offer. This means that we are removing the requirement for candidates to pass more than one unit containing similar content when studying for additional qualifications.

Changes to units
From 1 January 2018 seven units (RLPM1, SRP1, CHAT1, CPA1, NIRLPM1, RPA1, RIMP1) will be removed and will be replaced by one common unit, COM1. In addition, RIMP2 will be removed and replaced by RLPM2. It will only be necessary to pass COM1 or RLPM2 once, however many qualifications are taken.

If you have previously achieved a qualification with Propertymark Qualifications and are currently registered for an additional qualification with us, you may find that a mark from your previous qualification automatically carries over to your new qualification on 1 January 2018. If this applies to you we will send you a further message within the next few days with more details.

How these changes could benefit candidates
The following examples show how you could use previous Propertymark Qualifications success to help you towards a second qualification and a specialism:

Example 1: A candidate has previously passed all four units of the Level 3 Award in The Sale of Residential Property and would now like to study the Level 3 Award in Residential Lettings and Property Management. As COM1 has already been achieved as part of the first qualification, it will be credited towards the second qualification and the candidate will only need to pass three units to gain this qualification.

Example 2: A candidate has previously passed all four units of the Level 3 Award in Residential Letting and Property Management and is now interested in studying the Level 3 Award in Residential Inventory Management and Practice. AS COM1 and RLPM2 have already been achieved as part of the first qualification, these will be credited towards the second qualification meaning the candidate only needs to pass two further units to complete this qualification.

Changes to Qualification Content
You may see minor changes to the content of some units. These changes will be included in the 2018 version of the Qualification Specification and you must ensure you base your studies on this version for examinations from 1st January 2018.

Registration and Certification Fees
To encourage progression from Level 3 to Level 4 qualifications they will be reducing their Level 4 registration fee from £100 to £50 from 1 January 2018.
