NFoPP Awarding Body get award of their own

Thursday 19 November 2015

The NFoPP Awarding Body proved just how FAB they are at a recent awards ceremony for awarding bodies.

Over 320 delegates representing a variety of awarding organisations attended the prestigious inaugural Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB) 2015 conference and awards ceremony at the Marriott Hotel, Leicester.

The awards, which were held at the end of October, were launched just this year to celebrate key areas of excellence throughout the industry.

The NFoPP Awarding Body won the Team Contribution of the Year Award after being nominated for being a ‘small family unit that works closely together and supports each other, and for doubling the number of full qualifications issued in four years'.

The esteemed panel of judges comprised Jill Lanning, former CEO of FAB; Stewart Segal, Chief Executive of AELP; Joe Wilson, Chief Executive of College Development Network (CDN) and Richard Atkins, Principal of Exeter College and President of Association of Colleges.

Laura Holland, Head of Qualifications said: "The team has done really well. The standard was very high and winning this award means a lot to us all. It's lovely to receive recognition from outside the organisation and it just goes to show that we've had some incredible achievements for such a small team, and over a relatively short period of time. And with plans in place to increase our offering, we hope to continue pushing the boundaries offering even more."

The winners of four other awards were also announced on the night in the following categories:

  • Awarding Organisation of the Year sponsored by Cirrus Assessment
  • Innovation of the Year sponsored by the British Council
  • Qualification of the Year sponsored by Advanced Computer Software
  • Individual Contribution of the Year sponsored by Gordon Associates
