Primary Authority agreement now extends to Scottish members

Wednesday 23 March 2016

NFoPP’s Primary Authority partnership with Warwickshire County Council’s Trading Standards Department continues to develop with more member companies being enrolled in to the partnership on a weekly basis.

Recently we were able to confirm the extension of the partnership to cover our members in Scotland but only in respect of legislation that applies to all areas of the United Kingdom. This primarily relates to advice on compliance with the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations (CPRs).

The Assured Advice obtained from Warwickshire  on CPR issues has the effect of providing consistency of approach for Trading Standards Officers across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland as the existence of the advice has legal standing that Trading Standard’s officers are required to adhere to.

Members are able to access the current portfolio of advice which is shared with The Property Ombudsman’s Primary Authority partnership that has also been established with Warwickshire County Council at

The portfolio of advice is regularly added to and is revised on an annual basis so please keep visiting the page.

If you have any issues that you feel may benefit from the NFoPP obtaining Assured Advice please contact David Oliver, Head of Regulation via email at
