HMRC anti-money laundering supervision reminder

If you haven't yet renewed your anti-money laundering supervision, you can now do it online with the HMRC's new online service.

HMRC is reminding businesses that their anti-money laundering supervision (AMLS) registrations need to be renewed promptly through HMRC’s new online system.

Although many estate agency businesses have already renewed their registration, a number have so far failed to do so.

HMRC has featured user testing when developing its new online system and businesses should find the registration process easy to navigate.

Businesses can register by going to the GOV.UK website, which offers full guidance on accessing the service, what happens after you’ve renewed online, and what to do if you’re not renewing your registration.

Continuing to trade as an estate agency business whilst not registered for AMLS is a criminal offence. Businesses that don’t renew on time face having to pay the new registration fee when they do eventually renew, and the possibility of further financial penalties.
