Meet David Mackie, your new NAEA President!

Tuesday 19 July 2016

Appointed in June, David, has over 25 years’ experience in the residential property market working as an estate agent, letting agent and consultant.

David has been an active NAEA member for some time and was the NAEA regional executive for Scotland before joining the presidential team. He is also an NFoPP Board member, and is very much a President with a social conscience, who can often be found working his socks off for good causes. Did you know that he recently climbed to Everest base camp in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support?

David would like to see us all pull together to help overcome the challenges that modern-day estate agents face, including rising costs, increased competition from online agents and lack of stock so we can continue to grow as an organisation.

There will be a continued drive to promote membership, increase membership and support membership.

True to his kind nature, David says we also need to be seen as an ethical association with a social conscience, which will also help change the perception of estate agents:

"Under my presidency I also intend to ensure we become more engaged in and supportive of charitable fundraising efforts both as an association and in tandem with individual members. Each year will we choose a worthy charity and focus our efforts on truly making a difference for those less fortunate then ourselves"

Good humoured David is a man of many talents, but we'll let you decide whether cooking is one of them! David and his better half Sharon, recently featured in the hit TV show Come Dine With Me and went on to claim the £1000 prize after competing with two other couples from the West of Scotland - although how much of the win was down to David is debatable.

Their mouthwatering winning meal of little lemon pots with smoked chicken and cream cheese, followed by beef stroganoff and finished off with a chocolate and Irish cream torte went down a storm.
