Support ARLA's campaign for compulsory Client Money Protection

To coincide with ARLA’s amendment to the Housing and Planning Bill 2015 to make Client Money Protection compulsory for all letting agents, the Association is supporting a petition to ensure MPs fully understand the importance of this issue and they back the change.

Letting agents hold a significant amount of money on behalf of tenants and landlords, so client money protection acts as an insurance premium, which in the event of agency going bust or misappropriating funds it offers landlords and tenants the ability to get their money back.

If the petition entitled ‘Make Client Money Protection compulsory for all letting agents’ gets 10,000 signatures the Government will be forced to respond. However, if the petition reaches 100,000 signatures it will be considered for debate in Parliament.

To show your support for the campaign and to help protect tenants and landlords against agents that go bust or take off with their funds, please sign the petition today!
