Making it Easier for Charities to Sell Land

Consultation on extending the definition of 'qualified surveyor' in section 34(4) of the Charities Act 1993.

At the moment trustees of charities in England and Wales who want to dispose of charity land must normally get a written report from a professional adviser who is a 'qualified surveyor'. Following successful representations made by NAEA the Cabinet Office will be extending the definition of 'qualified surveyor' to include Fellows of the NAEA.
