Criteria
The Auctioneer of the Year is open to people who are members of, or work for a member the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA) or other divisions of the National Federation of Property Professionals (NFOPP).
The entrant should be a novice auctioneer and the competition gives the opportunity for entrants to put skills to the test that they may have learned through the NAEA/NAVA auction training courses, although attendance of these is not an entry requirement.
The entrant will be asked to provide the details of a sponsor (normally employer, or in case of a company principal a colleague) who can confirm they are a novice. Definition of a novice · Never sold at auction or · Only sold at one auction or · Conducted first sale at auction in 12 months leading up to the auction competition They must fulfil one of the 3 criteria above. The Competition will be judged on the ability to sell one or more lots at auction on the afternoon. There will be prizes for the two winners – one property and one chattels auctioneer. The overall winner will also receive a free place the Property Forum the following day and there, will be asked to auction a single lot for charity.
The judges’ decision is final. It is free to enter, however numbers are limited and are appointed on a first come, first served basis. Entrants will also be entitled to overnight accommodation at The Belfry, provided by our event sponsors, so to enter please contact NAVA NOW!
