We can kick-start your career in property if you’re returning to work, ex-military or leaving education. Getting qualified is an ideal starting point with home-study qualifications giving you control of your learning experience and our mentors are on hand to answer any questions you might have about the property sector. We also support the sector with an extensive range of training courses covering technical and soft skill areas.

What Do Estate Agents Do?

  • Talk to sellers about their property and identify any special features
  • Collect and research information about the property and estimate the property’s market value
  • Arrange photography and various certificates and associated paperwork
  • Represent clients in negotiations with prospective buyer
  • Manage the sale as it proceeds and liaise with all interested parties
  • Help buyers and tenants decide what they want to buy
  • Ensure that the price agreed is acceptable to all parties
  • Keep up to date with trends in the property market

Jan is Operations Partner for Arnolds Keys having responsibility for Business Management, Human Resources, IT and Quality Assurance. She is well known on the estate agency scene, and was NAEA President in 2013-14. Locally Jan is a regular columnist and commentator on the property market for national media, regional TV and radio and speaks at events across the country.

Lauren Scott

Lauren, a young entrepreneur is the Managing Director of Trading Places, a company she founded at the tender age of 23. Lauren sits on the NAEA Propertymark Board representing property professionals from the North East of England. She provides advice on property values, improvements and investments.
